About Me
Hi, I’m Julie Sims, affectionately known as Jewels, and I am a fully registered Civil Celebrant in accordance with the Marriage Act 1961, an official member of the Australian Federation of Civil Celebrants and a member of Australian Marriage Celebrants – with a lot of love to give!
I live close to the scenic village of Tyalgum, Northern NSW, and I am more than happy to share these beautiful surrounds with you, or travel to a venue of your choice. I have performed both formal and alternative ceremonies in the past, I enjoy using Celtic traditions such as Handfasting and often include other treats like smudging with sage to create beautiful moments and memories. I genuinely love the being a part of the creation of magical moments between couples.
I feel so honoured to join couples in elopements or to watch families coming together to share a wedding or a baby naming celebration. I have hosted many “Belly Blessing ways” with mums-to-be and had a couple of my own too! I am passionate about my role as celebrant and would be delighted to be a positive and calm influence on your special day.
I became a civil marriage celebrant because I believe in a thing called love! I have a kind heart and am patient and sensitive to other people’s needs and wishes. As your celebrant I offer unique, boutique, bespoke ceremonies with a hint of magic.

I can assist you with writing vows, offer suggestions for wedding music, readings, poems and rituals. Your enjoyment is my number one priority and I will have your best interest at heart. I am open to create ways to include family, friends, traditions, culture and faiths. I will help set a calm and professional vibe and be here for you every step of the way.
♡I specialise in Handfastings♡
Elopements
Just the two of you can create an intimate ceremony without the big fuss of a full wedding. All you need is two witnesses, and me, and your good go.
Non-Legal Weddings
Commitment Ceremonies are an alternative for couples who don’t want to be legally married but still wish to make a commitment to each other with all the beautiful moments of a traditional ceremony, but none of the paperwork.
Renewal of Vows
This ceremony is for a married couple who wish to renew their marriage vows and strengthen the commitment to each other. Love today is an act of recognition and determination, a commitment to live on in a rich and vivid tapestry of life together.
Naming Ceremonies
A Naming Ceremony is a very special way of celebrating your child’s birth and welcoming the new arrival into the family. It is also an opportunity to declare, before family and friends, your promise to be as good a parent as you can. And for adult friends or relatives, chosen by you, to pledge their special relationship with your child. A Naming Ceremony is, in every sense, a unique occasion for everyone to feel involved and to offer their support in your child’s future development.
Baby Blessings
A baby blessings ceremony can be as spiritual and sacred as needed, as it is all about welcoming this new soul to our world. A blessing way ceremony is the sacred & intentional alternative to the baby shower. It offers a woman a chance to be pampered and loved by her closest friends and family. Sometimes a blessing way can include the painting of a belly with organic paint or henna designs, and the creation of a natural mobile to go over the child’s crib.
Hen’s Celebrations
Using traditional ceremonies and rituals such as smudging with sage, anointing with essential oils, foot bath and massage, crystal massage, belly dance, henna and other pampering treats.
