AMC Educations Session – Understanding Modern Slavery, Forced Marriage & Online Exploitation

Join us for an important and eye-opening education session delivered by a Human Exploitation Community Officer (HECO) from the Australian Federal Police, with Mathew Fallon.

This session is designed to build awareness, confidence and understanding around modern slavery, forced marriage and exploitation, and how these issues can present within Australian communities and Celebrancy industry settings.

You’ll gain practical insight into:
Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking – including forced labour, servitude, debt bondage and deceptive recruitment
Forced Marriage – what it is, how it differs from arranged marriage, and key warning signs
Reporting pathways & support options – knowing when and how to seek help or raise concerns

This session is particularly relevant for celebrants, and students, where you may encounter situations that “don’t feel quite right” even when consent is verbally expressed.

The session is delivered by an experienced AFP officer with over 15 years in federal policing, including specialist work in:
Child protection and online exploitation
Human trafficking and people smuggling
International policing and mentoring roles
Designing and delivering targeted education programs

The focus is on prevention, early intervention and practical awareness, empowering you with knowledge you can confidently apply in real-world situations.
