Marriage Celebrants Cronulla
Thinking of a romantic beach wedding?
If so, you can’t go past Cronulla, a beautiful beachside suburb just 26 kilometres south of the Sydney central business district and just south of Botany Bay. It is hard to believe this beautiful beachside town is so close to where Cook discovered Australia.
Imagine; your day begins with you staring across the ocean imagining Captain Cook, in 1770, looking towards where you are now having breakfast and coffee with your favourite marriage celebrant while going over the details of your upcoming special day. Unbelievable!
This is one of the fascinations with Cronulla and is why it is one of the most popular choices as a wedding destination in New South Wales. Not only is it a picturesque area with its beautiful beaches and parks but there are many amazing wedding venue options with ocean, park or golf course views. You’ll find plenty of Cronulla wedding venue options catering to all sizes of wedding parties and budgets.
The name Cronulla was derived from the local Aboriginal word Karranulla meaning “place of pink sea shells”, and named by Surveyor Robert Dixon in 1827-28. It was still known as Karranulla until July 1852 when the schooner Venus was shipwrecked on the beach and was reported in the paper as Cooranulla which eventually morphed into what it is known as today.
In 1885 The Illawarra railway live came to Sutherland Shire and Cronulla soon beach became a very popular for beach picnics.
The Kurnell Peninsula (just to the north of the Cronulla township) was the first place Captain Cook sighted on the eastern coastline of Australia. Botany Bay lies just to the north of Cronulla.
