Oh, hey! I’m Jacqua. Since 2016, I’ve been a non-traditional marriage celebrant. I’ve worked with over 500 couples and have plenty of incredible stories to tell. Based in Wollongong, you’ll mostly find me on the South Coast, Sydney and the Southern Highlands.

When I’m not being a celebrant, I’m an ocean-swimming wanderer who loves nothing more than planning my next adventure (or yours). I’ve travelled throughout Australia, over 60 other countries and still dreaming of more!

I tend to marry couples who are unconventional and a little quirky – lovers who want a creative and inclusive wedding that reflects their distinct sense of style.

My absolute favourite thing about being a celebrant is getting to know you. I love spending time with you so I can share your unique story and fun insights with your family and friends. Ultimately, I’m here to create meaningful moments you’ll treasure forever.

Eloping? Getting hitched away from home? I’m also happy to travel around NSW, within Australia and overseas too. I’m free to roam!

I am, of course, authorised by the Commonwealth Attorney General‘s Office as a Marriage Celebrant, which means I can marry any eligible couple, anywhere within Australia, but I do prefer the south coast where I live. I am also an accomplished Naming, Memorial & Funeral Celebrant with over 45 years of experience in public life, married for over 49 years, an accomplished public & motivational speaker, humanitarian, educator, poet, international traveller, & Master of Ceremonies (MC).

Awarded for community service, and even for Celebrancy by Celebrants and wedding vendors, many of whom subscribe to my monthly newsletter or search my webpage for tips, ideas and advice.

I have been married for over forty years and a very proud mum of three beautiful (adult) children.  Home is the beautiful snowy mountains of NSW, however I still travel regularly to the south coast – I enjoy having a foot in the mountains (snow) and in the sea (sand).  I also ski too for your on snow ceremony.
I became a civil marriage celebrant in 2018 after a long career in customer service, mediation and dispute resolution.  I also hold a Certificate IV in Customer Contact and am a Justice of the Peace.  I wished to have a different interaction with members of my community, so time for a career change and a sea/mountain change – I have never looked back and truly love being a Celebrant.

It is an honour to meet couples, listen to their unique story, their hopes and dreams.  I strive to create a memorable and personal ceremony, incorporating their needs and wishes.  Whether you wish to have a small intimate ceremony with just yourselves, witnesses and me … or you wish to have a fully blown extravaganza, I will be with you all the way.  I thoroughly enjoy working with couples and families during such an important time – and calming their nerves sometimes too.  So many memorable occasions and wonderful people I have had the pleasure to meet.

As a full time Celebrant, I am available for ceremonies weekdays, evenings and of course on the weekend.  I am happy to drive and travel to meet the needs and locations of my couples – what a really great country we have to explore.  I look forward to meeting you!
