I live in Melbourne; however, I like to travel and I am qualified to perform a wedding ceremony in any State in Australia. You won’t be charged for the travel – just accommodation!

I love to make a ceremony all about the couple. I’ll help with the planning and do my utmost to make the day an exceptional one for the couple, as well as friends and family.

I am Billy Hodgetts, a marriage celebrant based in Deniliquin. I write the ceremony with you, then stand in the middle of the day and keep it steady.

Most of my work is in Deniliquin and across rural NSW and VIC. Riverbanks, backyards, stations, woolsheds, gardens and halls. Travel within 100 km of Deniliquin is part of the booking. Further out, I quote the trip before you book.

You can have the full ceremony, a shorter elopement for up to 10 guests, the legal words only, or the ceremony and the MC. If someone else is marrying you, I can take the reception. If the wind is going to get into the vows, I can bring a speaker.

We meet, you tell me the story, and I draft it. You mark it up until it sounds like you. The legal words stay in. The rest is yours.

Your Ceremony, Your Way.

I got into the celebrant business when my partner’s sister asked me to be a stand-in celebrant for her wedding (with a real celebrant doing the legal parts but with me doing everything else). I couldn’t believe how much fun it was! I had members from both families telling me I’d found my calling and ended up being the stand-in celebrant for her brother’s wedding too. After doing my second wedding as an unofficial celebrant, I knew I needed to do this for real.

I really love being a Marriage Celebrant and I’ve had the privilege of officiating at many wonderful and varied ceremonies.

Lovely, happy occasions where smiles, laughter and emotions came through naturally, from the heart.  Seeing people happy – it’s just fabulous!
