Yes—your ceremony can absolutely include children, pets, or anyone else you love. As long as the legal components are correctly spoken and witnessed, the rest of the day is entirely up to you.

Including children:

  • Have them walk down the aisle as flower kids or ring bearers

  • Invite them to do a reading or light a candle

  • Blend families with a family vow or unity ritual

  • Involve them in signing a symbolic family certificate (not legally required)

Including pets:

  • Pets can act as ring bearers, walk the bride or groom down the aisle, or simply be present

  • Check the ceremony location allows animals (especially public parks or venues)

  • Assign someone to handle your pet on the day—just in case they get camera-shy or overexcited!

⚠️ Important:

Only you and your two witnesses sign the legal documents. Children or pets can’t act as legal witnesses, but they can take part in the fun, emotional, and symbolic moments.
